This number called but no one left me a message

This number calls and has been calling twice a day for several weeks..when the call is answered you get recorded message telling how they can lower your credit card interest rates. When you don't answer they either hang up but once did leave the recorded message on my phone. I reported this to the FCC today..if you are receiving these calls don't just report it here go online to FCC Complaints and fill out the form online. It's simple. Maybe if enough people do this they can be stopped from the harassing phones calls. I have heard when you call them back it says the number is disconnected o if your talk to someone you get alot of grief. Just report them to FCC!!

I get calls daily about refinancing credit, but I think it's for the previous owner of my line. When I speak to a representative and begin to say, I want you to take me off your call list, they hang up before I finish the sentence. This is very aggravating.

Answer the phone, don't give any personal information. Say this script ONLY! "I DON'T DISCUSS FINANCIAL MATTERS BY PHONE, PLEASE SEND ME A STATEMENT, AND I PROMISE TO RESPOND!" They will probably say or ask why you've not responded before. INTERUPT THEM AND REPEAT, "IF YO SEND ME A STATEMENT I PROMISE TO RESPOND - GOOD-BYE! And then hang up. When they do send you a statement in about 2 or 3 weeks send this letter that was drafted by an Attorney and/or paralegal: :Regular Mail & Certified Mail #: To: P.O. Box City state, zipOaks, PA 19456 July 20, 2011 RE: Account # Orig. creditor RE: debt collector file account # Amount in Dispute: $ Dear [Collection Agency] , Inc.: I am in receipt of your demand for payment. However, this Notice is to confirm that I do not wish to be contacted again by you, including but not limited to, parents, divisions, subsidiaries, partners, affiliates, successors, and assigns, as well as its respective offices, directors, stockholders, employees, representatives, agents, attorneys, insurers; and that you are hereby put on Notice to Cease Communication pursuant to 15 USC Section 1692c(c). Failure to comply with said Notice, shall result in a complaint filed and submitted to the Federal Trade Commission, and possible legal remedies in an appropriate United States District Court. In addition, PLEASE TAKE NOTICE THAT, I am not waiving my right, to dispute the alleged debt asserted herein, but at this time I am under no obligation, to respond as a result of [Original creditor’s name]. default. Say they want to lower your interest rate. I spoke to someone in India and asked to be taken off the list. They were calling every day.
