These disreputable scamming idiots call every day. Recorded message, to; "lower my credit card interest" (I don't have any). "Lower my long distance bill" ( I use VOIP for long distance, so again, no bill). They don't give up, because the same list of numbers (with your number) goes to many, many, desperate people (usually desperate for drug, alcohol or gambling money) who call in hopes they can steal something from you, to feed their filthy habits. The company owners are guys with no concern about you. They operate out of selfish greed. They use the same smug logic as the street muggers, who say... "Who is the dumb s.o.b. here? The person who slaves away day after day for their wages, or ME, who can take it away from them in 30 seconds. "The marks" are stupid, I have the power, and now I have their money too." Difficult to get anything done about these illegal calls. Maybe because some politicians think like street muggers too?

Chavez RSS Feed Arkansas Attorney General Dustin McDaniel has sued Henderson, Nev.-based Consumer Telcom, Inc. alleging that the telecommunications company continued to charge Arkansas consumers even after they had canceled their long distance service. The suit alleges that CTI violated Arkansas' Deceptive Trade Practices Act by making it difficult for consumers to cancel their services. The company bills itself as a low-cost provider to consumers. According to the suit, customers who tried to change their long distance provider by calling Consumer Telcom or a local phone service provider were billed the full amount of Consumer Telcom's bundled services. Many customers did not know they were still being billed because charges were included in the bundled services. Consumer Telcom claims that its customers are bound by an agreement that requires them to let the company know they want the entire bundle canceled, according to the attorney general. But the office alleges the company doesn't provide consumers with a copy of the agreement so they can read it before switching long-distance providers. "Arkansas customers of CTI should be able to cancel CTI's services without having to say the magic words required by 'contract' they didn't get the opportunity to see, read or accept," McDaniel said in a statement. "This company should honor cancellation requests however they are made." Representatives of Consumer Telcom could be immediately reached for comment.

I have had many calls from "consumer telcom" according to my caller id and they never leave a message and when I did answer it was instantly how they will save me $10 on my long distance phone bill. Then they asked what phone company was my provider, why don't they know that, and said that I was considered low usage? Guess they haven't seen my phone bill! They were very hard sellers and when I finally got put over to the person to "confirm" my change I declined and said I wasn't interested at this time until I confirmed things with my phone company on whether this was a scram. I don't think most ppl call @ 8:00 p.m. to have you make changes to your phone bill and that they won't give you time to check it out.

Got repeated calls from this number during the last week, but they never left a message. A man called again today at around 7:15 pm, identified himself as a being from a phone company, and asked to speak to the person responsible for the phone bill. I asked him what company he was from, and I said that obviously he was not from my phone company. The guy hung up immediately. Phone ID said it was from Consumer Telcom.

I received a call from this number. When I requested that they stop calling me, the agent hung immediately without any salutation at all.

I got a call from this number offering to lower my long distance service on my phone bill by $10.00. When I told them that I never made long distance phone calls the line was disconnected.

Definitely someone trying to gather information. They had called my house several times and I answered and did not speak. Anyone who knew me would have spoken. I answered after the third time. I got the "lower my phone bill". He said he was my long distance carrier and that his records showed that I would be available to lower my bill by $10. Then he said "all I need to do" was give him some information. He asked if my phone company was the same as my internet service. This clued me something was not right. If you are my "carrier" why are you asking me questions about my service. They have my bill in front of them, right? I said, "I don't know". He asked if my television was included with my home phone service. I said, "I don't know". He then said ".O.k. well thank you", and hung up ........ He did not sound happy. A service provider representative would not have hang up on me and taken the chance I would complain.

This number calls me daily just about. Never leaves a message. So annoying!

Got a call today from this number. Said they could lower my monthly long distance bill. Hung up instead of telling me the details when I wanted to go over them again and said they would mail them to me. I suppose this deal is not available to people who want to understand it in detail. /s
