Same with me.. he asked me to view Event Logs of my computer. I asked him what is the purpose and who are you. First he said, we are Windows service provider, and then he said we are not Microsoft. I asked him for the website of the company, and he said.. www.hpserve.com which doesn't exist and then he said we are franchise of Microsoft. He said you have errors and warnings in your application logs which means your computer is at risk. I explained him that is not the case, and application warning is written when something goes wrong in the application, it doesn't necessarily means it is at risk - you cannot claim that just on basis of application logs. Bloody sucker and then I told him I am a software engineer... what are you telling me.. he hung up ... WASTED MY TIME

The caller said he is from Microsoft and Microsoft has received reports automatically send from my computer. He is calling me after reviewing all the error reports received from my computer. He wants to correct those error otherwise, serious harm to my computer. He asked me to enter some code, so that he can access the screen and assist in trouble shooting the error. I used my mobile and dialed the number to see what the response while talkinyg to this guy. I received an error message saying " we are sorry, you have reached the number that has been disconnected or no longer in service". I asked him about it, this guy hung up the phone. Please be careful with these type of calls.

Says he is from Microsoft and that someone is trying to hack our computer.... Unfortunately for her, I'm running on Mac OSX Lion...He run away when I told her this =)

When the call came in, it took a few seconds before the caller said anything and there was a lot of talking in the background like someone was at home. The caller said that he was from the U.S. government and I knew that it wasn't legit and hung up.

This is a SCAM, report immediatly to you State Attorney Generals office and the FTC. Caller very rude, made threats.
