CALL ME 6 TIMES A DAY AND NO ONE ANSWERS. VERY TRIED OF THIS!

have called me 3x about an account that belongs to my dad, but shows up with my ss# and his DOB.

Good ol' Portfolio Recovery again - only this time the caller goofed and started to leave a message; they are looking for a "Marilyn Davis". Funny thing is, I've had my phone number from the beginning when my area code changed and I don't know anyone by that name.

This is what you need to do to cease contact with Portfolio Recovery- Send them a CERTIFIED LETTER WITH RETURN RECEIPT (this way you have the name of the person who signed for the certified letter). The letter should be as follows: Your Name & Address; Today's Date; Name & Address of Collection Agency, in this case Portfolio Recovery Associates, LLC, POBox 12941, Norfolk, VA 23541 Dear Sir/Madam: Please stop all contact with me about account number________________, with (name of bank or creditor). The Federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act requires that you stop contacting me as soon as you receive this letter. Sincerely, (written name) (printed name) I sent this letter to Portfolio Recovery on Saturday October 1st, received back the signed return receipt on October 4th, and since then I have received NO CALLS OR LETTERS from Portfolio Recovery since then, and they used to call me 4 and 5 times a day. Try it, it worked for me!

I have repeatedly asked for this company to NOT CALL me anymore and they continue to call. Saying something like I have to send in the request in writing. That is new to me since my phone number is registered on the FEDERAL NO CALL LIST. Please help !!!

As usual with "Portfolio Recovery", they left no message.....and as usual, I will continue to ignore their calls.

this number calling about a debt covered in bankruptcy in 2004 spoke with a kristen and she said she noticed where it was covered in bankruptcy and to disregard. few day later, got another call--another person asking questions. like atty name etc. this is a private number on the no call list and should not be called and besides it was covered in bankruptcy. help!!!!

August 23, 2011 at 7:23 pm PST A person from this number called my home number looking for someone else. The rude male caller said my number was given as a contact number. When I told him the person didn't live at my address, he insisted I give him the person's whereabouts and phone number. I hung up on him.
