Just opened a NEW account with Macy's. Never received a bill. Macy's called to say that my payment is late and must pay by phone immediately. Macy's refused to remove a $25 late fee that was added to the account even if I never received a billing statement to make a payment on.

I called this number back and it said it was Macy's.... This is not Macy's and the number keeps calling my phone. How do I make it STOP?

This is Macy's and I don't have a bill with them. I don't know why they are calling me at least 5-6 times a day.

I called and asked why they called me. The gentleman offered to block my number quickly. I said not to block it because the call might have been justified. I told him to answer my question as to why I was called and also why no one left a message. He got mad and said he could not leave a message because of privacy. I said OK, then what do you want? YOU did call ME. Why? I then said that if he kept asking my information I would have to report this number to the FCC, FTC and my left toenail as an illegal fishing organization. He was screaming that I was insane so I asked again if he could tell me why I was called. He was insane at my not being forthcoming with my information. I said "you have an accent and I mean no offense. You have not told me even the name of your company. You cannot find my number in your computer but I got a call from this number. You guys could not leave a message because you were calling about personal information and now you don't even know my name." I chuckled and said I don't trust you with my name.

The call is legitimate but why did they never leave a message or hang up when I said "hello". That led me to this site which made me even more suspicious. By the eighth time they called and actually responded when I said "hello" I was so cross and refused to give them any personal information thinking they were scam artists. It turns out I was late by 4 days to 1 week of my first charge card payment. I didn't think people got calls like this unless they were horribly overdue. I had already sent my payment in the mail just a couple days ago and apparently they didn't get it yet. Wish I never opened this account in the first place. If they could quickly tell you how to get on line one wouldn't have to deal with waiting for your first bill among all the junk mail and these weird bothersome phone calls.

Cut the card in 8 pieces and mail them about half with a note listing your account number and order them to cancel it. Meanwhile report them to the attorney general of your state or similar person. Also Better BUSINESS bureau JUST SUGGESTIONS IF YOU WANT TO DO IT.

They call several times a day and appears to be Macy's collections. Let's all call them toll free at 1-866-593-2543 or their collections dept at 1-888-822-9242. Call several times a day, at their expense, serves them right. I'm also filing a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) as this is pure harassment, no doubt about it.

I have been late on one payment and I told Macys that I would pay as soon as I could pay. This was the 4th of Oct. Bill due the 5th. Now they have started calling me every few hours sice the 7th.
