A guy with a thick Indian accent, calling himself "Oscar Williams" called from "the computer department" to ask about my "Windows Computer". Thank dog almighty that some criminals are morons!

Got a call from 512-477-0200 saying my computer gets a new virus every time we surf the net. I asked for her name and phone number and that I would have the manager of our IT department call her. She hung up.

November 11, 2011 - "Windows" called and said a virus was detected on our computer and was about to crash. The computer is 7 years old, refurbished, and free. And how come they haven't called me the few times my computer crashed before? Bogus

Caller said they were from Windows and a virus had been detected on my computer. They wanted me to run a prefetch command and delete my prefetch folder and then run a script they would send me to protect my PC. I never did any of this just let them think I had.
