(222) 555-7777 Phone Call Reports
Cell phone rang. I recognized Mauritanian scam attempt from 3 years ago, and refused to answer. My phone is listed under "Do Not Call" registry.
Wanted name and said he was national Internet computer security ad wanted ip number to my home computers. Stated that I had been hacked.
Asking question about a computer and then started using profanity
Same issue as others. Was told that he was working for Microsoft from home. Told me that he was calling from Wyoming. Pushed him for a city and he gave me an address but not a city. pushed again and he finally came up with one. Asked for his name and number. Said his name was Charles and his number was 357-980-5421. Got mad because I questioned the fact that he was in Wyoming and that he worked for Microsoft. I told him to remove my number from his call list. he cussed me and then said that he would continue to call me over and over again and sell my number to others that would do the same thing. Did some research on the number: #1) 357 is not an area code for Wyoming or anywhere else in the US & #2) the number he gave is from the Island of Cyprus. Total scam. Hang up immediately. Threatened to call Better Business Bureau
I have received a call today Jan 21 from an Indian accent caller saying that he is calling from Microsoft because i sent a crash report from my computer and that there is number of warning from my computers and he offered to help fixing it. he connected to my computer after convincing me that they are from Microsoft. he offered to sell me a package of service on my computer for 1 year and 2 years I refused to buy it and they hanged up. I don't know if they hacked my information , how can I know ? what should I do.
Called today with lame story about a virus in my windows operating system/ He asked if I was the primary user of the computer; I asked him what my name was, and he didn't know. Seems if he was really monitoring my computer, he'd know my name, right? Wrong. This is a scam, pure and simple.
Nice man he called me the B word and hung up
I've been getting several calls from this number as well. The man who spoke to me had an Indian accent, and wanted me to log on to a web site due to some security issue he had detected on my (nonexistent) Windows machine.
Told us he could fix a virus on our computer from his end and to go to our computer and turn it on A man with a heavy accent like maybe india
I got a call from the same # and turned it over to the federal no call list after googling the # and seeing all the complaints
I received a call on my cell phone and it was a man with a heavy accent asking if I was the owner of a laptop computer. I told him he had the wrong number and he said what makes you think I have the wrong number. I hung up.
Called 7 times in 2 days, xxxxers!
claimed my computer had virus on windows.
I got phone call today from 222-555-7777. I did not answer. So I guess the scam is still going around
They called me 3 times today and have talking caller ID and says name unavilable so I did not answer..thought Comcast anonymous caller rejection blocked these types of calls so answered the fourth time and wanted to know if I am the registered owner of the windows computer at this address...some dumb ass camel jockeys so before he could go any further I stated you have not reached a private residence or business as this is the office of the counter terrorism division of the FBI...he hung up and if they call back have a 135 decibel air horn waiting for him..then I will block there calls
I have had a few calls from them in the past week, I am an ex telephoen company employee and I was told that if you pick it up, don't talk to them at all just hit the * (star) key 6 times, they are gone and it is supposed to block your number from the , I haven't experienced that yet
Rreceived from 222-555-7777 was a man with a heavy accent. He introduced himself as a computer IT guy. He said he wanted to help me fix my computer because of a virus that is going around. I asked him to confirm my windows account and then he hung up.
The first call I received from 222-555-7777 was a man with a heavy accent. He introduced himself as a computer IT guy. He said he wanted to help me fix my computer because of a virus that is going around. I was already aware of this scam so I let him continue. He asked me if I was at my computer, and I said yes. (but I was not), he proceeded to explain to me to go through various steps up unitil the control panel and the remote access icon. At this point he realized I wasn't at my computer. He said "you are not at your computer, are you?". I told him "no I was not", I then proceeded to tell him that I knew it was a scam and that I am going to call the police. He hung up. I called the police department. They were already aware of the scam. They get full control of your computer. Police officer I talked to said that they also received the call and then told the (this time a woman) that "you just called the police department". Then dial tone...... Police officer told me to let everyone know that under no circumstances allow remote access to your computer. This is how they steal your information. Police officer said so far they are aware of a woman and a man involved, and that even though I could give them the 222-555-7777 phone number it is not traceable. Now I get calls from this number and no one speaks on the other end. I just hang up.
No one on the other line when I answered the phone.
