got home today and seen the number on my caller ID 1-123-456-7890 . I tried to call it back and it's didn't even finish the call and the operator stated the call couldn't go through as dialed blah, blah. I thought it might have been Telus as I reported a lost/stole cell phone last night and thought they may have recovered it and were calling me back to tell me that, so I tried to do a reverse look up to see where the number came from and got this sight. still don't know what is going on, however I am going to call telus later and see if they did try and contact me, or if it's the same thing that has happend to the above ppl.

Shouldn't be too difficult to remember not to pick up again on this number as long as one can count to 10 :)

I too have received several of these calls from 123-465-7890 this week. Generally there is no one on the other end when I answer (usually on my wireless handset, as it doesn't have caller display, and I end up going to the wired phone that does have it to see what the number is). Today, I got the same Mid-East accent as is mentioned in prior postings, asking to speak to Mr. or Mrs. Jones. Being a single person, I replied with there is no Mr. Jones, and ask who is this, and what are you selling. He then insists on speaking to "Mrs." Jones, which annoyed the heck out of me, and I replied with there is no "Mrs." Jones, (heavy on the sarcasm), and again said who is this and asked what he was selling. He then responded with "Oh, I must have the wrong number, and hung up. That's when I came online to find out if I could see where these calls were coming from, and found this site. As I have a relatively new phone number, and have only given it to friends and family, the only thing I can think of is a computer is randomly dialing numbers until they get a warm body on the other end, and before they come on and speak, they are trying to find out the name that is registered to the number that answered, before they come on the line.

Well these people called again 3rd day in a row, this time when they called i screamed WHAT! instead of saying hello, when the guy began his little speech saying he was calling from Primus, i gave him heck for harassing me, and asked if he wanted to pay for my artificial leg if i missed the call to come in to be fitted for it, due to them tying up my phone line with their ignorance by calling and not replying when we answerer the phone.... he just hung up...

My service provider offers call blocking for up to 32 phone numbers, they get a recording that says, I am not accepting calls from this number...doesn't work for all soliciters just the repeat ones.... Check your providers web site...

I got this call today, it was Primus Canada (im located in Ontario Canada)they were offering me long distance plans, saying that theyc an beat my current rates blah blah blah with amonthly rate of whatevermy crrent company is half their rate,a nd no monthly fees, so i talked with him a bit, got himt o say some stupid things that didnt make sence to purchase it.He said alot of senior citizens like this plan, and he thinks its the best plan for me, (im 26 go figure thats the new senior)so i asked where he was callign from, he said the head office is in Markham Ont, i said NO where are you calling from. he said India, so im assuming this is possably a VOiP call outsourced..Sorry, but if someone from the Ontario head office is not going to call me personally, im not giving them my money

This number calls me a couple of times per week. I've answered once in the past. I said "hello" and gave them approx. 5 seconds to respond, but nothing...I then continued to shout "why call if you're not gonna talk?", a few seconds later the person at the other end of the line hung up on me..hmm

For the past 2 - 3 days I have had the above number on my call display screen. They never leave a message and it is very annoying. With all the scams now a lot of times you never know if you should answer or not. I figure if you don't leave a message, it is not important. I would love to be able to have control over who calls me, and get rid of the telemarketing calls.

Well I have recieved the same phone call the last three days in a row. Stating on Sunday which I find strange considering that seem to be the only day telemarketers do not call your house. I had just put my 7 month old baby to sleep and the phone rang and woke her up then there was a man on the onther end of the phone claiming to be with primus I told them I was not interested. The following day around the same time he called again!!!! He went through the same speel as they did with Dumbledore (above) told him many times that I could not understand what he was saying and I was not interested. He would not taqke no for an answer then he proceded to ask my date of birth that is when I hung up the phone. You would think they would get the drift!!! NO!!!! they called agin today this time a woman that I could not understand what she was saying. Very pissed off at this point again putting my very cranky 7 month old to sleep... Told her this was the third time they had called I was not interested and if they call again they will get a VERY loud surpise in the phone!!! I was reading on another web page where they blew an air horn into the phone.... Does not sound very nice but if you can not take no for an answer you deserve what you get.

They calledabout 5 times through out days, today at 9pm saying there Telusl, before Rogers and Bell Canada. Telus is not even a home phone in ottawa but in toronto. so this gave it away.Always takes them 5 secs to answer aswell.

I just got a call from 1-123-456-7890 today. It was also a lady claiming to be calling about Primus and had a thick accent as well. I thought it sounded fishy and just hung up on her.

So I'm sitting here at my computer doing some homework and my phone rings. Considering the time, I just assumed it was my girlfriend calling from work to see how my day was (I'm at University 0700 - 1700 and she works 1600 - 2300). Anyways, it turns out it is NOT my girlfriend, but strange lady with a very thick accent claiming to be from Primus. She knew my first and last name and claimed to know what company I was using and what prices I was paying. Not really knowing off-hand what I am paying, I sort of agreed but didn't really care. She asked me how often I call long distance, I said "Never" and she said, "Good, you'll be happy to know that our long distance prices are the lowest!" .... Okay, something fishy is going on. She knows my name, claims to know my telephone company and bills, and then doesn't even listen to what I say. She asks me if my phone number is 516 yadda-yadda-yadda, but it's not, it's 519. She then goes, "And your address is Medicine Hat, Alberta..." I live in Calgary and was born (and bred) in British Columbia. She then said, "Oh you moved, well thats good can I please get your current address?" By now I knew something was going on and said, "I don't know what my address is offhand" she says, "Oh that is going to be a problem" and hangs up. Scam? I'd like to think so.

Every day I get a call from 123-456-7890 .... we never answer. I am also in Ontario Canada. No one ever leaves a message on my call answer from this number. I think that next time they call I will answer and press # a few times- maybe this will stop them from calling again.

1234567890 showed on call display. It turned out it was Primus Canada. I think it is something to do with long distance. I really couldn't make out what the lady was saying because of her thick accent. I lied about not being the owner of the phone... I hope I don't burn in hell but I really didn't want to listen to her go on about Primus either... not sure what would be worse.

Also from Ontario Canada, have been getting at least one call a day for a week now. Have recently changed our phone # and was hoping to avoid pesky calls for awhile, but they found us anyway. No message on answering machine which is on 24/7. I'd really like to answer and scream at them - but I'm sure these people have no souls anyway.

Been getting calls from this number a few times. Today, they called again claiming they're from Primus Canada asking about long distance calls. Since it sounded strange to me, I told them we're not interested and hung up.

Hi,Hundreds of people have received calls from this number across North American. '123' is NOT a real area code, these calls are conducted through VOIP. The people on the other end either:- Leave threatening messages (They know your name and threaten to kill your family)- Try to scam you out of your money.- Scream at you in another language (they usually have accents).- Ask for the man of the house and then hang up.- Complete silence. Many people have been spooked by these numbers. Do NOT pick up the phone when they call, if you do they know someone lives there and they will keep calling. If you do pick up, press the '#' sign a bunch of times, I was told this would screw up their call. Or you could blow a whistle and hurt their ears enough so they won't call back .Call your phone provider and let them know what is going on (talk to tech support) and order the feature that allows you to block numbers.

I got a call from this number yesterday at 9:30 am but wasn't home to pick up. Seems this is quite common. I also live in Canada (Ontario). I've been advised not to answer.I've also been recieving lots of "unknown caller" caller IDs lately. Not sure if it's related...
What?

This number has shown up on my caller ID so many times. It's odd because I'm never home when they do call, or I just don't hear the phone ring. I like the whistle idea and the block call feature idea. I'm implimenting both, which ever comes first!
