Automated call identifying itself as Bank of America collections. They ask for three types if information, SSN, home ZIP and PIN. If you refuse to answer any combination of these questions the phone will not be transferred to a agent. This has to be a scan!
Caller ID simply stated number and listed "California" on display. Person identified themselves as being from Bank of America. They asked to verify our adress, name and birthdate, then disconnected after a minute.
Called the same number back, it went to India call center.Spoke with lady and asked to remove the number from all references. She said, they got the information from here.
I am thinking..is there no way to complain such that they can block their number itself.. no out going to that number. Please advice..
got a call from 1-888-872-6514 they told my wife our house ws going to be repoed and they needed her ssn# to verify who she was,so she said you called me you tell me who i am,in which they didn't ,she aked to talk to their supervisor, they said they were from bank of america, long story short she told me so i called them, got through the bs automated junk, talked to a real person who wouldn't give me any info, she wouldn't even tell me who she worked for,but said i had the wrong number that the automated system forwarded me to her must have made a mistake, her phone number is 1-800-669-0102 ext.7165 her name is lisa, that number is on this website as a scam so i'm thinking about calling them as many times a day as i can like they do everbody else
BANK OF AMERICA credit collection harassment. In my Google research I've linked this number also with "credit collection." I have received 120+ calls in two weeks! Thank goodness I give out a "junk" phone number that goes to a voicemail box only (like a spam email account) to businesses!! I was one month behind in one credit card (by mistake--because my bank changed my account number), but I paid it today. Perhaps I will see these calls stop now? The credit card is with Bank of America. and I've never been late with a payment before. Not once. The state of our economy--harass every customer, even the good ones. Sigh.
Received this robo-call supposedly from Bank of America before 9AM. Machine called me by name and gave me this number to call and a 6 number code to punch in. Claimed suspicious activity on my ATM/debit card (which I had, in fact, used the night before) and said I needed to reply by July 2nd because a hold may have been placed on my account and it would only be lifted upon proper verification.
I checked my emails and found no alerts from BOA plus the number they called me on is not the one I gave my bank when I opened my account so I got suspicious and did an internet search on the number first and found this site. Glad I did. Obviously a scam.
My 12 year old son is getting these crazy people calling him on his cell phone. Yesterday they called 10 times and so far today they have called 6. And you can't get anywhere with the automative system. If anyone knows how to get them to stop, I would like to know.
These people are calling from India. When you go throught the automated system when you call back, it will ask you to type in the SS #. Enter a fake #. I talked to these people and they asked a lot of personal questions. I started in on them with a few questions of my own. I asked them who I was........Do I have a loan there, you tell me. You tell me who I am. Why are you asking for my number. He said, well you may not have a l loan with us...........Is your name so and so. No that is not my name, so why are you asking for my SS#, if you don't even know who I am, or if I have a loan with your bank? Then I asked where he was calling from. India , he said..............and then I hung up. I called the news station and they said it is a scam and BOA know what is going on. There is nothing that you can do to stop the calls.
Someone from this number claimed that they was from bank of america asking for a mortage payment. i stated i pay the bank directly and was then asked if the bank will send the payment.
This is NOT a real BOA call, I called BOA directly and they said it was a fraud. The said I had suspicious activity on my ATM card, asked me to call them gave me a 6 digit pin#, I called BOA first then called the number they asked for my SS# and other info which BOA does not ask for, keep your indentity safe always protect yourself, when you get calls like this always use your normal way to contact yourbanking institution or service provider, this goes for emails as well, never click on the link to take you to the website to login, go in your usual manner that way you keep your personal info safe!
I am current on my Bank of America Mortgage and have been a customer for several years. Recently I have had financial difficulties. A counselor told me I qualified for the Home affordable program and when I asked Bank of America for a Loan Modification they instantly started calling my cell phone every hour in the morning from 8 til 2pm. I mean every hour. i was not even in default. They also call in the evenings on the hour. I now may have to Block their number but wondering how to communicate about a modification. They do this on purpose and put you a bad list. They don't really want to help people yet they are taking Government Money. Anyone who has an account with Bank of America should close their account. No matter how loyal you are to them if times get tough they kick you when your down. The Government should not be giving them funds for modifications
I have recieved calls from (800) 669-0102 every day for the past two weeks. The claim they are from Bank of America and they want to talk about my mortgage and ask to have my last four numbers from my socical security number. They can use the last four numbers to get access your bank accounts. Do not give them this number !!
After doing extensive research I was able to find out that this company is FIA Card Services formerly known as MBNA Corporation which seems to control accounts for banks such as Bank of America, Regions, and what was once Wachovia. So if you have an account with one of these companies I'm guessing an credit card you will most likely get a call from them to remind you to pay your bill, or what I am gathering to force you to commit to an over the phone payment using your bank account info with whomever you are speaking with. I don't know about you but I am not comfortable with giving my info to anyone especially over the phone. Although this company appears to be a legit outsourced, and/or internal (not sure truely which one)company. I still feel it's an active account debt collector, and the way they are practicing their business is inconsiderate. They will continue to call you even if they are informed that they have the wrong number and the wrong person. So fair warning if you are being harassed by this company make complaints against them. Even if you have an account with them harassment is still harassment. Here is what I found for their contact info.
Goodluck.
FIA Card Services, N.A. is a federally chartered national banking association with headquarters located at 1100 North King Street, Wilmington, Delaware 19884. phone number is 1-800-441-7048 , 1-866-866-2153. www.fiacardservices.com
I'm not so sure it isn't a fake. I received the call stating they were the BofA mortgage dept. and asking for my last 4 numbers of my SSN and stating they wanted to confirm my payment amounts, etc. I told them I would call back, but I called the BofA number I had in my records rather than the one they provided to ask if they were aware of any need for this info and they stated "No", that everything was fine. If you have BofA for your mortgage company I would not provide any info to this caller. I would contact them at the number you have on file or in your statements and then you will know it is not a scam.
Person called saying it was Bank of America and they wanted to send me 3 credit reports if I would verify my name and address and answer 2 questions...SCAM!!!!
Got the same call again...it's been a few times and I never answer numbers that show up as unavailable!
I get the message that it's a recording wanting me to call Bank of America. If it was anything important, they wouldn't call me telling me to call them back. But today I called the number they left. It kept ringing.
I have spoken to 4 different people from this agency and have explained my financial situation as well as a promise to pay date. However even after these conversations and prior to the promise to date paid they have called me 10X's plus. I have faxed a Cease and desist notification a week ago and they still keep calling. They called again this morning 12/26/09 and I spoke to one of their reps very frustrated and verbally requested they STOP calling!!!! I spent 20 minutes on the phone with this guy and explained my situation, he suggested I fax my request for no more calls, I explained I already did that and they still keep calling, I said I would fax it again. Even after this phone call they called my house again. I have since faxed again my request for Cease and Desist. We are doing our very best and have expressed that to them, but to get 8+ calls in one day -is ridiculous!!!!! Please have them stop calling!!!!
Actually. I'm wondering if this is not a scam... They phone us as well (as well as several other people), and we don't even owe them payments. Other people do not even have a home loan, or do not have a home loan with them and are getting similiar calls.
Rather go on the BAC site for the tel numbers and phone them direct, as 1800 669 0102 is not on their contact list!!!
Constantly getting calls from this number (800-669-0102 ) 4 to 5 times per day. Keep asking for me by my first name. They want an account number when I tried calling them back at first. My wife has answered and told them to stop calling we do not have an account with them. They continue to call.
Your state might be different, but the Kentucky Attorney General's Office (AGO) told me to sent this company a certified letter stating that you want them to stop all calls. Then, if they continue to call, you get in touch with your state's AGO.
I believe this is a reminder call from Bank of America, however I was unable to verify if it is legitimate or not but I believe it is because I do have a mortgage with them.
I have been getting calls from this number every single day after 5:00 pm that tells me to call Bank of America at 866-953-2716 and they're always closed. I called just now and they said personal assistance is not available! How do I remove them from my list?~
I'm on a payment plan with B of A to pay off my credit card with them. The montly payment is automatically deducted from my B of A bank account, but yet they continue to blow up my phone everymonth wanting more money. I'm looking forward to when this card is paid off and I will close all my accounts with them. I wouldn't recommend B of A to my worst enemy.
Supposedly this is Bank of America calling to remind you that you have a credit card or some other bill due with them. They call from 716-656-6677 and don't leave messages, however the call repeats and I answered and figured out it was from BofA.
