The Washington Post today put together a cheat sheet when receiving calls from telemarketers representing charitable organizations. We full encourage charitable giving throughout the year, but as the Post points out it makes a lot of sense to fully qualify the charity prior to sending them money.

The Canadian Radio-Television and Telecommunications Commission annouced that Canadians will be able to sign up for the Do Not Call List (DNCL) starting September 30th, 2008.
Registration is free and should help reduce the number of telemarketing calls Canadians receive.
