Brian Krebs of the Washington Post wrote a story this morning about how personal information of citizens ticketed in Maryland, including social security number, is available online through the Maryland Courts Website.
We checked it out and sure enough you can find:
First and Last Name
Address
Date of Birth
Driver’s License Number
Social Security Number (Listed as Driver’s License # for some drivers).

The Canadian Press reports that it has broken up an alleged telemarketing and identity theft ring in Montreal.
The ring used lottery scams to convince victims to wire them money via Western Union or MoneyGram.
