showing this came from florida but is originated overseas...asked for my husband by his first name. upon calling mumber back it said it was disconnected.
they called 11:28 AM 10/20/2008, and I have no idea who they are.. also when I looked up the number there are 2 people with that number in Florida, and neither name is James Anderson.. so I assume it is a pesky call.
Do not know any Jim Anderson and I am on the do not call list. I also do not have any reason why a creditor would be calling me. I would like this to stop!
received the same type of call. I too am registered on the dnc and will be forwarding a complaint as I am so tired of these calls. I have ignored the FL calls but when the James Anderson showed up I thought it was really a person. This is absolutely ridiculous
This is card services. Never give these people your credit card numbers. They have nothing to do with lowering your interest rate. What they do is charge your credit card anywhere from $599.00 to $999.00 for their "services". What are their "services"? Calling you and getting your credit card number so they can steal money from you.
My number was called as well and it is registered on the do not call list. Same thing as everyone else ... James Anderson under the same number 863-467-8918
I am on the DNC List. Have this number on my caller id with the name James Anderson. I plan on taking this to the highest level. I am so tired of these phone calls. Not like there's money to give out now any ways, with the economy the way it is.
I too got the same thing. "James Anderson", I pressed 1 to speak to someone about this because I am on the Do Not Call Resgistry. This is 7th time I got this type of call. But a different nuber every time. I do not know how they do it, but they "steal" phone numbers to hide who they really are.
I got a telemarker on the line and asked "Could I please have the name and address of this company?"
A man Said " The name of the company is 'Credit Services"
I said " And can I please have the address," and the jerk hung up on me. I will be reporting it to the DNC registry. You can also call your telephone company and tell them you are being harrassed and you need a record of the person whom called you that day and have it traced. if you report it as harassment, they have to do it.
Call came up on caller ID as James Anderson and left no message. I too called the number back only for the recording of, "the number you have dialed has been disconnected". OK, what's up with this invasion of privacy.....is this a bill collector after my ex or what cause I will be happy to lead them in her direction!
Received my regular telemarketing call from 8634678919 from Okeechobee, FL.
Asked to speak with manager (Artai).
Me: Why do you call me repeatedly when I am on the FCC Do-Not-Call registry?
Artai: and a call bank makes our calls, so I don't control who gets called.
Me: I haven't applied for a credit card in years. Have only 1 card that I use.
Arta: Give me your phone number and I will put it in the corporate DNC registry.
Me: I am reluctant to give out the number since your company disregards the FCC DNC registry... why would they honor their own DNC registry or just sell my info to another 3rd party and claim I had a business relationship with you? Ends up that Artai knew my number anyway (which I suspected) and called it out to me. I've done this before.
Me: Will you write me a letter stating that your company will no longer call me?
Artai: I am not authorized to write such a letter.
Me: I will file a complaint again with the FCC.
Artai: Have a nice day.
said some thing about an interest rate and that this was my last offer and to press one for more information or 2 to not get the call any more i pressed 2 , but i am also on the DNC list too and they should not have been calling me.
Answered the phone with no answer from the other end. Checked caller id and Number was 863-467-8918 James Anderson. Call came in Oct. 9th at 4:53 pm. We are on a NO CALL list. When checking out the number on the internet noticed all the complaints on this number.
Saw this number with a James Anderson name on the caller id, I didn't answer the call, they never left a message. I googled the number and saw these reports. I am on the DNC list and will be filing a complaint with this number.
I answered my phone and a recording talked to me. A female voice told me today was the last day to get my interest reduced and I think she said to press 1 to speak to an agent. I chose to not do so as I know this has to be a scam. My credit card companies would announce which card company was calling.
I see that "James Anderson" has been running this scam on LOTS of complainants for quite a few days from this same phone #. Googling this number not only showed me this report site, but also that this phone # is linked to two other names: David Thomas and Pamela Renfoure !
PLEASE report these calls to the Do-Not-Call list if you are on the list and if you have not done so. They CANNOT investigate for you unless you report the call to them.
Caller ID says James Anderson
Phone # ID shows 863-467-8918
863-467-8918 is a scamming phone number. You can answer the phone and will get a last offer to lower intrest rate. I was hung up on when I told them to immediatly take me off their calling list. I immediatly called then number back to give them a peice of my mind but found the number is "no longer in Service". I don't know how they are setting up their system but it is definetly fraudulant since you have no return number to call back on.
Same as all the rest except I went to high school and graduated with a James Anderson. I almost answered except I saw the area code was 863 so I didn't answer, no message. Then I Googled the number. The scamers are getting more creative. Usually the caller ID says out of area or 1111 or 123-456-7890 . I too will file a complaint as I am on the DNC registry.
These calls are coming from one company in Florida or Georgia and operate under different pretenses. Sometimes its lower interest rates, other times its car warranties or something else. The best thing to do is file a complaint with your state's Regulatory Authority's Consumer Affairs division. I'm in Tennessee and their number is 1-800-342-8359 , option 1.
I keep getting calls from Florida and this is the latest scam call.I am tired of this as I am on the no call registry both nation wide and state wide in Wisconsin. What is the point of being on the no call list when it doesnt seem to work?
Received a call from "James Anderson", at 863-467-8918 , a south central Florida exchange. Normally, I don't pick up on numbers that look strange, but I have a customer in this area and thus answered the call. The pitch is for getting a lower interest rate on your credit card debt. What a crock! The credit market, as of 10/02/08, is practically non-existant, so how could they lower my current rate? I asked for the account number of the credit cards of mine that they (the James Anderson telemarketers) have on record. I did not get an answer. I advise the women on the phone I haven't paid one cent of credit card finance or interest charges in almost 35 years, so I could care less about the interest rates. There after, I hung up. Apparently, the "James Anderson" name is a ruse, as this name is not really associated with this phone number. My suggestion should you get a call from 863-467-8918 : Don't answer, or if you do, just say "One moment please", then lay the phone down until the party hangs up. You are burning up their time, and most telemarketer procedures allow only 45 seconds or less to get a confirmed contact. Otherwise, it gets logged as a failed call and the telemarketer gets a mark against their "effectiveness". Another good stall is the one where you let them start the spiel, then say "Oh, hang on a second, someone is at the door....", afterwhich you let the phone stay off the hook for a minute or so.
received the call at 11:25 am 863-467-8918 James Anderson. Recording stated something like 'don't be alarmed, but this is your last notification regarding your account press 1 if you want to take action' that I can remember.
Yeah!! Whatever!! Dont' fall for it...some broke funk company trying to jip consumers. We're already in this sad awful economy...
report this to the do not call registry as the callerid said it was James Anderson, but it is some scam company trying to get credit card info or to lower your rate
Caller ID: James Anderson
Number: 863-467-8918
September 30, 2008 around 6 pm EST
Telemarketer regarding "last day to lower credit rate. Press 1 to hear more..."
Violation of "DO NOT CALL" list
CID James Anderson - 863-467-8918 . rude ethnic man named david... refused to listen to me - transfer me to a supervisor or refused to take me off their list. Refused to talk to me about the actual credit card company and or account I own that he represents.
