This number apparently shows up sometimes when the caller is calling from a foreign cell phone. At least, in my case, the caller (a good friend) had nothing to do with the incorrect number being shown. She was calling from a totally different number in India. I know this number shows up on caller ID in place of other foreign numbers as well. Sometimes when my friend calls, it shows her number, other times, it shows a US number. I live in Bay County, FL which is 850 area code, so it appears as if it were a local call, but if you call it, the number is apparently not in use. All the reports I've seen for this number on other sites say it appears when it is a foreign call. It must be a glitch with Knology or the caller ID system. If you have Knology as your phone service provider, report it to them.

I get sent alot of parcels through my work, so I wasn't surprised, so I tried to get through, and after waiting a long time I got an automated message telling me to to type in my number so they could locate my parcel, but they kept
one digit wrong, so I tried two more times without success, then I tried my girlfriends phone, and got the same problem!
Now after a short search on the net, I've discovered this and similar reports on few other sites.
I'm really not looking forward to getting my phone bill next month! :-(
I have recieved two call in the last week from this number claiming to be Account Services and wanting to lower my interest rates. Twice the telemarketer has hung up on me in mid sentence when they realize I don't have the debt they're looking for. When I've tried to call them back it says the number has been disconnected and is no longer in service.
I got a call from a bot wanting warning something or other bogus--the kind of call that can spook a senior citizen. I pressed one just so I could talk to a rep, and the moment the rep found out I wanted on their do not call list, he hung up.
I've reported them to the attorney general's office. I hate rude telemarketing people, since I was a polite telemarketer for years--if anyone wanted to be put on do not call, I was happy to do it.
I also hate bot calls.

I ask him to remove my number and he hangs up on me in mid-sentence.

possibly Toro Bravo LLC
I suspect the number is "spoofed" and the service is bogus or illegal.

I press "1" and then woman comes on the line and informs me that they can reduce the interest rates on my cc's for me. When I inform her that I can call the cc companies myself to do the very same thing and ask to be removed from their call list, she hangs up on me. When I called back to verify my name had been removed from their call list, I received a recorded message telling me that the number has been disconnected.
I received a call from this # today. Did not answer at the time but called back later. Received the disconnected info same as those listed by other submissions. My sister who lives next door has also received the same calls which she has never answered. She DOES have an air horn and plans to use it if this # ever shows up again.

Assume this is the same scam company that has called from other not-in-service phone numbers. Why are they allowed to continually violate do-not-call registry?
I get calls from these jerks about once a month. After a few times it got irritating, so I went up to Wal Mart and bought an air horn (Sports Dept., costs ~$5.00), now when they call I just put the air horn to the phone mouth piece and blow away. Keep the air horn away from your own ears when you do this, because it will cause ringing. You can also get these sports/boat air horns at Academy. Have fun.
These calls have been coming on a frequent basis (850-473-1276 ); tried to call back but it says it is not a working number. When they call - they say it is about a debt we owe. We owe no one in this calling area - we have an unlisted number and we're on the "Do Not Call List". This is a scam
If you call this number back you get "I'm sorry this number has been disconnected or is no longer in service". It is supposed to sound like the phone company's recording but is not.
I recieved a call from this number wanting me to lower my intrest rate, I pressed one and talked with a telemarketer, This is some kind of HOAX, I asked to talk with her manager and she basically started studering and wouldnt let me talk with anyone. Never gave me a name of the company she was with or anything. After I had enough of the BS I hung up.
They call almost every other day; its a Pensacola FL number, when I do answer, they do not say anything, I have had messages about a car warranty. We dont have a car warranty.
I am in China and I keep getting calls from this number. Each time they call it costs me $3. If I miss the call it goes to voice mail and it costs me $6.

The telemarketer greeted me and asked if I am calling about taking advantage of the lower interest rates. I said I was, but that I had no idea what company I was dealing with and had to know that first. She hung up.
People getting these calls who want to help put a stop to them should go to the web site www.heatherwithaccountservices.com to get the info on the real identities of the criminals behind this scam and the agencies to report them to using this info. Reporting them using the fake names they give out (Card Services, Financial Services, etc.) or the fake phone numbers that they illegally cause to show up on your Caller ID does little good.
The most likely one of the several criminal telemarketers behind this scam is American Debt Negotiators, and you can get the information about them and the links of the agencies to report them to at the above web site. They also should be reported to the Florida Dept. of Agriculture and Consumer Services (ADN is based in Florida, and this is the agency that polices telemarketers) and your own state attorneys general office.
Received a call from this number. A robot came on and started talking about credit card rates. I hung up and then dialed the number myself and found it to be a disconnected number. This seems to be a number being used as a spoof for calls done over the net or something.

Just got a call - I told the agent that banks offer Visa and Mastercard accounts, so, tell me the name of your bank. He wouldn't tell me and told me I deserved to be raped by the banks.
I also have been getting these calls more and more frequently, so this time I pressed "1" to speak with a representative. The last time, I told them I was on the Do Not Call registry, and they hung up. This time, I asked what company they were with. The guy told me he's with Card Services. I asked him what company that is. He said, "You know on the back of your credit card where it says to call Card Services? We're Card Services." So I asked him which credit card company he was with. He said they represent Visa, Mastercard, all the major companies. When I kept pressing him to tell me which company he was with, he said "You're a f***ing moron. You don't listen," and hung up. I am SOOOO tired of receiving these calls. The government really does need to do something about it because I'm sure there are plenty of unsuspecting people out there who wouldn't think to question it.
After receiving a recorded call from (850) 473-1276 asking if I wanted to lower my interest rates I too tried to call the company back using the same telephone number and got the recording that the telephone number is disconnected.
I did some investigating. This area code is out of Pensacola, Florida. The telephone numbers (850) 473-1270 thru (850) 473-1277 are disconnected.
This phone number 850-473-1276 caller id says Tara C Seay. call it and it says it is disconnected. I also have been getting the calls that says lower you interest rates, I would assume this is the number also get them at my place of employment on two lines!!! This is frustrating.
same here- we are on the do not call list, and a vague message was left our voice mail something about call immediately or ask to be removed from the list- but don't leave a name. Frustrating!!!!
I keep getting calls from this number and when I answer the phone they hung up. Every once in a while someone will say that they want to lower my intrest rates on my credit card. They never say which one. I have asked to be taken off hteir list but it has not happened and it has been going on for a while. The number is 850-473-1276 . They just say it is a finnancal service. These people do NOT stop calling, my last two calls were on July 26th, and July 30, 2008. I live in Macomb County Michigan, and made the mistake of answering the first call, where a woman said "do not hang-up, there is a problem with your loan here in Pensacola, FL", then I quickly hung-up. Please note that my credit is considered "Excellent", and I am registered with the "Do-Not-Call Registry", and have an unlisted telephone number, yet these people have been getting through for over a year now. Sick Of It!!!

Credit Card Debt Reduction Scam. "Financial Services" called. "Brian Harris" was the name the caller gave. He refused to give me a phone number, refused to give a street address, refused to give a website. Said he was in Atlanta, Georgia despite the fact the area code is in Florida.
I reported it to the FTC since I'm on the Do-Not-Call registry.
