Calling for the Police Protective fund. Lied and said he was calling from Florida. Lied and said 100% of funds went directly to charity. Lied and said he was soliciting for police for ALL of Illinois. Calls are from a Verizon landline located in Chatham, Illinois.
Said she was selling advertising for Deleon's. I said we were not interested and she made a smart comment, so I hung up. She called BACK!! Called me a b**** and told me to F myself. I would sure like to track down this chick and get her fired.
Not sure who it is. Called my today about 10 min ago. I had half a message, but it was in Spanish. I assume it is some kind of telemarketing. My cell is on the Do Not Call. If they call again, they are in trouble. I suggest get your cell on the Do Not Call registry. www.donotcall.gov
I got a call from this number at 5.32pm Eastern. Same as the above, saying in Spanish that I had one some random $1000 prize. I pressed #1 in order to talk to someone to remove my number from their directory or something. I told the lady that answered that I was not interested in their prize, after which she interrupted me to tell me, in Spanish, ''why did you press one you idiot.'' She quickly hanged up, and when I tried to call back it said unavailable number.
Whoever this company is, I hope they end up in bankruptcy pretty soon.C
Called and asked a name that must have been the previous owner of our phone. We've already changed our number once because these scammers keep calling and now our new number is getting these calls. I wish there was a way to block them without paying Verizon $5/mo. What a scam...
I have had calls from this #1-217-483-9596 . The man’s name was Mike and he said that he is from a Police Protection Fund. He calls me every year around this time and asks me to send at least small amount of money to support families of killed police oficers. Please advise if this is a legitimate charity.
I recieved a call from 1-217-278-6929 . I worked all night at the http://www.YellowAirplane.com Website. They woke me up and then wanted to know my exact birthday. Why exact. When I said that I was 45 - 50 the guy just hung up. This is harassment and is invading my privacy. Why do they want an exact date. My credit card company ask me my exact date of birth for verification of the call. Does this company want to grab my credit card or bank information. Never answer any survey, ever. Just scream at them and then they will put on their list "Poison Number" I learned this from the Red Skelton Movie, The Fuller Brush Man. They keep exact list just like this. If you are cooperative, many companies sell these list to list companies who in turn sell your name to others that will call you over and over because you are a push over and many so called companies, just want to steal from you. Be sure to Yell at all Survey People and Salesmen who call you and they will get the message and pass it along.

A quick Google of the number shows it is registered to:
A Davenport (217) 735-2128 1105 N State St, Lincoln, IL 62656
However, I doubt this is who called me. The person was of an Indian decent and was obviously a telemarketer, probably using a Caller ID spoofer in clear violation of the FCC rules.
