do not leave fone on often. given # out 2xs other than family, once a friend then received an unknown call, once to a doctor office Friday. Today, mid Monday morn missed call, sure to be doctor office. Missed call, called back and a machine came on stating that it was a travel call and would be calling back. I typically use this fone for emergencies and to keep in touch with family and for things such as ordering a pizza or if running late somewhere. phone usually is off. Last couple of days an exception.
Received a telephone call from this number on my cell phone, which I don't give out to anyone other than family and friends.
It was a pre-recorded message, in Spanish, and then they hung up. When I called the number back, I was told that this was a travel related call (in English) and to press 1 to be removed from their database. I hung up as this would only increase the frequency of calls.
I have been getting calls on my cell phone for a long time saying that the factory warranty for my car had expired. I have been asking them to take me off the list, but they keep calling. Today, I said yes to try and get more information and so they transfered me to a Senior Warranty Specialist who asked for my make and model. I said I had a 2004 BMW 325i and he then asked for my VIN and millage. I told him I was not in front of my car. He asked when I could be reached with that info. I asked if he had a number I could call and then he hung up.
I have read this is a scam, but I am not sure what scam or how to stop it since the numbers on callerid seem to be faked.
I got a call from this number today. The lady with a slight Indian accent said the company was Financial Advisors Group...something about they can help if I have unsecured debt. I asked if she was a telemarketer and she said yes. I asked to be removed from her calling list. She said she would. My number is registered with the Do Not Call List. Why can they still call? Frustrating!
Seems to be a timeshare call. Got two calls with no messages, then when I picked up today the woman asked me if I was the owner of the phone. She couldn't tell me who she was calling, claiming she couldn't read the name. Strange, isn't it? I told her I wasn't interested in whatever she had to say.
London Based JDE Consultancy keeps calling despite being told to take name and number off. Refuses to divulge the name of the calling company only phone number is displayed in Call ID.
I live in Canada and I received calls from this number a couple of times now. A reverse search does show a number from Idaho, and he did have a slight Indian accent. The first time he called I asked the caller some information about their company. He said it was "Canada Financial Services", he also said the parent company was "Northwood Mortgage". I said I would need to do some research before providing any information. I couldn't find anything about "Canada Financial Services", but I did find out about Northwood. It seems that Northwood is a legitimate mortgage broker and they are piloting an off-shore call centre, located in India. My guess is that Northwood is not the only company using this call centre, and the call centre is using a number in Idaho to redirect the calls through. What the call centre is trying to do is ask a few questions to qualify you as a potential client, then connect you with a mortgage broker. I don't believe this would be the best approach to find new clients, especially when most people have no idea who is calling!
Calls 3-4 times a week. Never says anything when I pick up. I finally called back tonight, got a message machine, with a foreign accent. I left a message not to call back or I would call the police the next time
